Description
NYCO GREASE GN 46 is a mineral-based aircraft grease designed for a variety of applications, particularly suited for oscillating bearings and splines. It’s formulated with a 13 cSt at 40°C mineral base stock and thickened using calcium soap. This composition is further enhanced with additives for oxidation and corrosion inhibition. The grease is recognized for its excellent protection against water corrosion and is operable in a temperature range from -55°C to +75°C.
This grease is suitable for bearings and splines (both rotating and non-rotating, oscillating) in aircraft, and helicopter tail rotor bearings, where it offers exceptional protection against fretting wear. It can also be technically replaced by the synthetic grease Nyco Grease GN 148 for certain applications.
In terms of specifications and approvals, NYCO GREASE GN 46 meets the DEF STAN 91-51 Iss. 2 / XG-284, MIL-G-25537 C Amd1, and DCSEA 366/A standards. It’s also listed in the Airbus CML 03FDG1, making it compliant with the requirements of various military and commercial aircraft manufacturers.
